In this mini doc,today we will be discussing a common tetra breed' 'The neon tetra''.To start with,a neon tetra is a tropical fish originating in south american waters.There bodies are technically transparent except for their very colorful markings!The neon tetra is distributed throughout northern Latin,including Brazil,eastern Peru and southeastern Colombia. In the wild, the largest concentration of this fish may be found in the Amazon River Basin.A undomesticated neon tetra is omnivore,they feed on algae and other tiny invertebrates.

The neon tetras lifespan is around 5 to 8 years.Did you know that the neon tetra has the ability to turn off its color when resting?Its predator are bigger fish.

It's tank size should be around 10 gallons for a small group of tetras.Neon tetras are freshwater fish(so the water should be soft and gentle).The optimal temperature for their tank should be around 72 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit.Their diet isn't that complicated,being omnivores they need high quality flake food,frozen foods,branched zucchini etc.Because of their small size,bigger fish tend to eat them up,so make sure to put them with gentle fish(same size).Here are some symptoms of an unhealthy neon tetra:

-develops a curve spine

-develop cysts as the body starts to become lumpy.

-move around with abnormal swimming patterns in circles or, as if drun

A breeding group can produce 100 babies per month,also the parents don't care for the little ones,they will sometimes eat them.
